Introducing Nishikawa Paper Industry
Since the late Taisho era, our company has been based in Kyoto, beginning with the production of shikishi (decorative square paper).
Over the years, we have specialized in creating traditional paper crafts, such as wacho (Japanese-style notebooks), goshuincho (stamp books for temples and shrines), folding screens, and calligraphy paper, primarily for temples and shrines. We leverage the “experience” and “expertise” cultivated by our skilled craftsmen through years of dedication.

Our Passion for Craftsmanship
“Breathing Life into Paper, Coloring Emotions with Paper”
At our company we strive each day to go beyond simply creating products. We listen carefully to our customers’ needs and aspirations, embracing not only the “purpose” behind the product’s use but also the deeper “wishes” it represents. Through this approach, we breathe life into paper and continuously enhance its value.
Whether it’s a token of gratitude for a special occasion, an object of prayer or faith, or a way to elegantly showcase cherished creations within a living space, we are dedicated to infusing human emotions into our products and giving them from.

Edge Wrapping
Tech2Edge Wrapping
Tech2This is a technique used to wrap the edges of thick paper. Depending on your preferences, we use gold, silver, brown, or black tape to wrap the edges of shikishi (decorative square paper) and folding screens. The color of the edge tape can transform the final piece—adding sophistication, vibrancy, or depth, and expanding the possibilities for creative expression.
